BESE kicks off the 2018-2019 school year on Sept. 22.

The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will meet for the first time this (school) on Tuesday, September 22, 2018. For our newer readers, BESE generally meets Monday evenings and all day Tuesdays.

BESE agendas are available here. And you can watch the action live from the comforts of your home, classroom or teachers lounge here.

At the September 2018 meeting, the BESE agenda includes a review of the Commissioner’s Goals for 2018-19, a presentation by the Teacher of the Teach and updates on the Arts curriculum frameworks, MCAS and school funding. A report on the VISTA principal and superintendent survey are also part of the agenda. The big takeaway? 91% of principals reported their educator evaluation system is effective.   The agenda documents are available here.
