Local School Spending #DataVizDay

Net school spending is the amount districts actually spend on local public schools. The foundation budget is the minimum amount districts are required to spend on public education.

Surprise!

Districts with the highest ranked schools in the Massachusetts accountability system are able to contribute significantly more local funds.

Districts with low-ranked schools likely do not have the local resources available to support schools at the same rate.
