The 2018 district accountability system identified 233 Massachusetts public schools as falling into the category of “Requiring Focused/Targeted Support.”

Schools may be labeled as “Requiring Focused/Targeted Support” for (a) falling into the lowest 10% of schools in student performance on MCAS and other factors included in the accountability percentile, (b) one or more subgroups of students falling in to the lowest 10% of schools in student performance on MCAS, (c) have low graduation rates (below 66.7%) or (d) low student participation on MCAS (below 95%) over two years in the aggregate or subgroups.
