DESE released a guidance document on May 27, 2021 outlining health and safety expectations for the remainder of the school year and previewed expectations for Fall 2021.
The early guidance for Fall 2021 will expect all schools to offer in-person instructional programs. Guidance on health and safety requirements, including masks, may be updated over the summer. The guidance also encourages schools and districts to continue to ensure adequate ventilation in classrooms, frequent handwashing and encouraging students and staff to stay home when sick.
