Initial applications for new charter schools in Worcester and New Bedford have been submitted to DESE.
After four organizations submitted letters of intent to open a new charter school, only two organizations have completed the next step to in the process. Our summary of the four letters of intent for the 2021 round is here.
The Ubuntu Excellence for All STEAM Charter School and Innovators Charter School have submitted initial applications to open a new school. The next steps will include an invitation by the Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education to submit a full application, public hearings and vote by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
